For example, you can have a character that is an herbalist, a shinsen player, an actor, etc. You cannot have a character who is a used car salesman, an open heart surgeon, etc. There are also special occupations that are exclusive to the Tenka Ikka world:PRIEST/PRIESTESSES, |
God slayers are mortals who are specially trained to kill spirits for various reasons. Some kill spirits because they believe that mortals should not be subjugated to the spirit world. Others kill spirits because they truly despise them for some reason or other. And others just kill spirits for sport, for money, and for glory. The god slayers were once a powerful clan, but they have since branched out into various clans all across Tenka Ikka. God slayers always work in groups rather than alone.
THE RED BLADES,[/i]
The Red Blades are the Yanwo rebel group that works to liberate their country from Sajagul for good. They wear red masks and are lead by the rightful prince of the Yanwo throne, whom the Sajaguls thought had died. Since the Red Blades are working to restore Yanwo’s prince to the throne, many Yanwo people have mixed feelings about the Blades. Many Yanwons like the democratic-republic that has been set up, even if they resent being taxed by Sajagul.
RAIDERS,[/i]
Raiders are travelling bandits that raid villages and caravans for food, money, and merchandise. They usually travel in groups, which they call clans, and are lead by a clan leader. Raider clans are almost always composed of only men, although there are cases of all-female clans as well.
COURTESANS,[/i]
Courtesans are members of the jal class of Sajagul. They are women that have been groomed to entertain high-class men with song, dance, poetry, art, and company. They are bought by a man and kept separate from his true family, and is expected to attend courtly events with him. Courtesans must always wear the emblem of their master so that all other men know that they are bought. They are
A woman does not become a courtesan by choice. Courtesans are women who were sold into slavery or who have very heavy debts to pay. They are not allowed to have children and their clothes are usually slightly reveal bare skin (i.e., bare shoulders, bare neck, wrists, etc.).
GUARDIANS,[/i]
Guardians are spirits that protect a mortal they care for. The mortals, however, do not realize they are being protected. Instead, the mortals believe that they are lucky for avoiding bad situations that the guardian has protected them from. Guardians cannot make themselves known to their charges unless under dire circumstances. In some cases, guardians protect certain places they are attached to rather than people.
FAMILIARS,[/i]
Familiars are spirits that bond themselves to mortals with strong spiritual energy. They can either be summoned by their mortal, or they can always be with their mortal. Familiars must be of the same elemental affinity as their mortal charge. Should a mortal mistreat their familiar, the familiar will turn on their mortal and very possibly kill them. A mortal only has one familiar unless they come as a related pair (i.e., the spirits are mates, siblings, or parent and child).Priests, priestesses, and oracles usually have a familiar. Only animal and lesser spirits can become familiars. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
