♥A willowy young man trotted through the forest, humming a self-made tune. Tsukishiro wore a plain, short, and light gray kimono, with a black hakama. His silvery white hair caught the low light, flashing slightly. His eyes were a bloody red, but an observer would not be able to tell, for his eyes were closed in an almost comic way, with the corners of his mouth lifted up in a fox like smile. He knew this particular section like the back of his hand, and because of that, closing his eyes and enjoying the sounds instead of the sights was more appealing. He began to whistle, a simple tune he had learned by listening to some birds. "It's so peaceful when there aren't any God Killers tryin' ta kill me~" He said enthusiastically, as he rounded the corner.
♥He swung his arms nonchalantly every time he took a step, making it seem like he was doing some sort of mangled skip. He was light on his feet, and barely made a noise as he continued to trot, changing the tune that he hummed. He lightly hopped to the side, avoiding one of his own traps, and continued, aimlessly wandering through the forest. Today had been rather dull so far, and being the thrill seeker he was, he was so terribly bored, without anyone wanting to skin his hide. Suddenly, he paused, his pale arms still in mid swing. Pausing for a moment, he turned his head, before opening his brilliant crimson eyes, and scanned the area behind him for a moment. With an almost knowing smile, he continued, resuming the little song from where he had left it as he began to move, his gait slightly different as he bounced along.
♥Perhaps whatever was following him would step into one of his little traps, ne? If it did, it would be the remedy for his boring day. The kitsune's smile widened into a grin.

Her day had been an average one, nothing particularly noteworthy had occurred. She had spent most of her day in the city, pick-pocketing food, money, and shiny object. When thieving, she always took a little bit at a time so the disappearance wouldn’t be easily noticeable; preferring to be safe over sorry. With this method she had made it through the day without being caught, and managed to gather a decent amount of spoils. She had taken her bag of stolen items to the forest, before picking a resting place for the remainder of the day. She had chosen a small crevice in between a few large tree roots. The roots served several purposes, not only making a comfortable resting place, but also keeping the small child carefully out of sight.
Hotaru sat with her knees pulled up to her chest, her gaze captivated by the item she greedily clasped. It was a locket, glossy and gleaming in all its silver glory. She had stolen it from a store that morning, and it was by far her favorite from today’s pickings. Despite this, the small piece of jewelry actually had very little value. It wouldn’t even come close to fetching a hefty price, if it even sold at all. It was completely impractical. So why had she stolen it? Simply because it was shiny… How could she have refused? As she gazed at the item that was only precious in her own mind, her thoughts turned to what she would do for the rest of the day. She didn’t want to leave her little make-shift camp. Maybe she’d take a nap, or use leaves for target practice with her precious blowgun? Whatever she did, she would need to get some rest. However…
There ain’t no rest for the wicked.
Hotaru’s thoughts were torn away from the idea of relaxation as she heard a tune being hummed, the melodic sound echoing throughout the woods. The source of the tune was obviously a person, and where there was a person, there was something to steal. A wide a mischievous grin formed on her face at the prospect. The girl stood up, reaching the glorious height of four foot three. Her red hair swayed around her face as she moved forward towards the source of the sound, careful to keep her little feet from making much noise. When she found the person, she nodded to herself, satisfied. He ought to have something worth stealing on his person.
Hotaru followed her target, a dagger clutched in her hand. Somehow, the realization that it would be impossible for her to mug a grown man never occurred to her. She kept on, moving silently through the forest, waiting for a chance to ambush. She carefully remained hidden, keeping a safe distance away. Every now and then, Hotaru would cast a cautious glance over her shoulder, just in case. It was during one of these instances that the man opened his eyes to gaze in her direction. Her head had been turned the other way, causing her to completely miss the action.
Hotaru took another step forward… and face-planted. Her foot had caught on something, causing her to tumble forward, letting out a squeak of alarm as she did so. She remained on the ground for a moment, too stunned to move. Eventually, her arms made their way to the ground below her, positioned to push herself off the ground. She sat up, revealing a pouty, slightly distraught, and dirt-streaked face. ♥He had not taken more than a few extra steps before it happened. As the a small squeak filled the air, followed by a thud, Shiro fist-pumped, his wicked grin widening beyond mortal limits, revealing his pointy canines. Turning around on the ball of his foot, he lazily trotted to the fallen girl, arms swinging, his bare feet making a soft pit-pat as they tapped against the soft earth.. "Yay!~ It worked~," He said, screeching to a halt in front of the small child, squatting so that he was down to her height. "right, Ochibi-chan?" He said, emphasizing every syllable in Ochibi-chan, and craning his neck so that his inquisitive red eyes were only inches from her face. He took in her thin frame, her red hair that framed a baby face. His gaze wandered briefly towards her dagger, and being the smart little cookie that he was, Tsukishiro put two and two together. "Ne, it's not nice ta mug a poor, beautiful ol' soul like me!" He said, pursing his lips in a playful pout, and giving the mortal a gentle flick to the forehead as she pushed herself up. For a few moments, he stayed there, his face returning to it's bored expression.
♥Slowly rising, he brushed himself off halfheartedly. At his full height, he was a fairly impressive 5'10", and he prided himself in his exceptional beauty. After all, no man could compare to his perfection. It was just the natural way things worked, ne? He stared expectantly at the girl, waiting for some sort of apology and gush of compliments, much like the way tods strutted in front of potential mates, showing off with everything they had. Frowning at the lack of immediate fawning, he gave a dramatic toss of his short silver locks, which had grown just long enough to tickle the base of his neck. Hmph, these common folk couldn't comprehend a wonderful creature like him. He sighed, letting his attention wander as he waited for the girl to say something interesting.

She stared at the man, green eyes meeting red. Her eyebrows scrunched together in frustration as she cast a glance over her shoulder to see what had tripped her. Upon realizing it was man-made, an irritated frown grew on her lips. She hadn’t expected this outcome at all. Her gaze returned forward once more, now in the form of a glare. The cause of the glare, of course, being the title “Ochibi-chan.” The glare didn’t suit her baby face at all, and would probably cause amusement rather than its intended effect.
Hotaru's eyes screwed shut at the flick, and she leaned backwards as a late reaction. When her eyes opened it was once again in a glare, and an even angrier one than before. Her hand reached towards the dagger, plucking it from the ground. She mindlessly fingered it, twirling it around in between her hands. It was painfully obvious she was wanting to use it.
An opinion was forming… and it wasn’t a good one. This man was strange, and Hotaru didn’t at all like the way she was being treated. True to her thoughts, she spoke. “You’re a weirdo.” Her voice was the high-pitched one that was to be expected from a child, but it rang out clear. She rose to her feet and wiped her hand on her face in attempt to brush the dirt off. A glance down at her clothes revealed that they were a lost cause – No amount of brushing off would get them clean – so she ignored them.
Hotaru obviously didn’t attend to leave this encounter without a reward for her troubles. She lifted the dagger to point at his face. Due to the height difference, the angle of her toothpick of an arm was almost vertical, and it was quite an amusing sight to behold. However, as she stared up at him, her expression was completely the opposite of amused. She pulled another dagger out of her bag, and with one in each hand, she struck a fighting stance. ♥Shiro couldn't help but giggle at the frown plastered so awkwardly on the child's face. The piercing gaze- it was just too funny! Deciding he didn't want to let go of this choice moment, he said. "Ne, Ochibi, why are ya looking at me with such concentration? Have ya already fallen in love with my dashin' good looks?" He said, giving a mock look of arrogance as he tilted his head skywards, eyes closed, and nose sticking out. The tips of his fingers were pressed lightly against his chest, and for a moment, everything stayed like that, before the Ochibi spoke.
♥"You're a weirdo."
♥"Aw, you're no fun, Ochibi-chan." He said crossly, folding his arms. At that moment, the girl decided to try again, and he watched, one white eyebrow raised as she assumed what he thought was some sort of fighting stance. Shiro had never been particularly talented at, and did not have an eye for non-magical combat. He much rather liked watching those poor little fools scream and beg for mercy as they burned slowly to a crisp. At that thought, his expression became somewhat malicious, and he smiled a sinister smile, before returning to his cheerful self. Eyes closed to mere slits again, he grinned, deciding since that he was already so infamous, he might as well tell this odd little mortal who she was dealing with. "Hey Ochibi, as ya know, you're in Ta Great Forest." He stated, and with a snap of his slender finger, summoned one of his harmless wisps of fire. This one was a blinding white, and flickered calmly in his palm. Hoping the girl didn't know of this ability in particular (because then, he would have ta use Inferno, and then things would get messy for ta kiddo!), he said, "Do ya know what happens ta naughty kiddos here?" He said, adopting the best scary tale tone he could, managing to contort his expression to something akin to a jack-o-lantern.
