THEIR STORY: Ku was born with a lame leg, a handicap that would have cost his parent's life if they had not abandoned him at a young age; with the rise of godslayers survival had become a crucial topic, and it far out-weighed sentimentality. Ku did not feel any disdain or betrayal towards his parents because it was the very same instinctive behaviour that drove him to fend for himself and survive on his own.
His abilites allowed him to live momentarily in mortal society, but even his leaves-to-money skills weren't enough to feign the fortune of the upper class, and his lame leg wouldn't allow for him to actually work for an honest living. His only solution was to live betwixt and between the feral and the civilized; in a hybrid hermitage. The arrangement proved fruitful for filling his belly during the day, but every night he was forced to search for somewhere to sleep in the wild, but his scavenging and survival skills had been dulled.
He was rescued from a trap by a travelling woodsman, whom used his tools to break Ku free; however in the process, his tools broke. Ku was filled with a deep sense of gratitude and felt he wanted to compensate the woodsman somehow. He decided to transform into a teapot and have the woodsman sell him for money, then use the money to repair his tools. The woodsman agreed and eventually sold Ku to a priest.
The priest was pretty desperate for a decent teapot, so he had to settle for the filthy peice of scrap that he bought. One of the legs on the teapot was shorter than the rest, so it couldn't even stand properly, but once it got cleaned perhaps he could get it repaired... or so he thought. After vigoursly scrubbing the muck off the teapot, real legs sprouted from the empty metal torso and ran away in agony. Ku tracked down the woodsman with what animalistic senses he had left and pleaded to stay with him, the only mortal that had been kind to him.
There was a twinkle in the woodsman's eye; he wouldn't have to settle for repairing his old tools, with Ku by his side, he could muster enough money to buy a brand new set of tools and more. From then on the woodsman would repeatedly sell Ku, wait for him to return and then sell him again. No one could report theft, because the teapot always ran away on its own.

ABILITIES:
Leaf Style Metamorphosis Magic: All spirits possess the ability to transform into mortal guises in order to avoid detection: Tanuki's embrace that elusive nature and take it one step further. In addition to having the ability to transform into a human incarnation, Ku also has the ability to transform into inanimate objects; his speciality are containers and cooking utensils such as stew pots, tea pots, chests, etc. To actually perform any transformation; Ku requires his favourite hat, sewn from straws of bamboo with a leaf pattern interwoven into the rim. It was given to him by his surrogate mother, the woodsman's wife, and it is regarded as his most precious treasure. In addition, Ku can can convert an individual leaf into paper money, it isn't permanent and in fact doesn't last entirely long either. His magic is purely cosmetic; whatever physical condition he is in when he begins the transformation, effects the end result, for instance his lame leg remains the same throughout all his transformations.
Eight Empty Treasures: A martial art based on the concept of simulating the drunken state, however for Ku it is merely the name of his drunken rage. After consuming the 8th serving of alcohol from his gourd, his mind becomes frenzied and unpredictable, which is perhaps the only benefit this form gives him. With a lack of inhibitions there is also a fearless quality in Ku, however he has no concern for his own safety. For most practitioners; the art is performed beautifully, demonstrating agility and acrobatic prowess, however Ku is a stumbling mess with no sense of balance. Those that witness Ku's 'drunken art' don't expect alcoholic priests contributing to the bluff as to whether he really is martial arts master or just some amateur drunk. The consequence of relying on the art does not reveal itself until the morning after, whereby it renders Ku incapable of processing any recollection of the night before in addition to an atrocious hangover.
WEAPONRY:
Ku uses a walking stick to compensate for his leg; even though its main purpose is to support his weight, it does offer a mild form of self defence.
In addition to his walking stick, he carries around a scroll of proverbs, a last ditch attempt at attacking the moral fibre of his enemies on a philosophical level. He believes its one of the perks of imitating a priest.
